Option 2 is highly advisable during the Great Wildebeest Migration where you get a much better chance of seeing the famous river crossing. This is Kenya’s prime park and never disappoints in terms of wildlife experience. Sporting a pride of Lion is highly likely. While the Cheetah might be well camouflaged in the tall grass, our well trained Safari driver guides are well tuned to their tricks and will soon spot one for you. Elephants and thousands of other non migratory animals abound throughout the year. Over 450 hundred species of birds have been recorded here both local and migrants The most popular months are from midJuly to late October during the migration of the wildebeest. This is the annual mass movement of over 1.5 million wildebeest accompanied by Zebra and Impalas from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania in search of pasture. Hundreds of hooves pounding the open plains accompanied by a cacophony of grunts create a spectacle to behold. Spend the nights in a relaxing room in either of the lodges below listening to the orchestra of rasping Cicadas, croaking Tree Frogs and the intermittent call of the nightjars and owls not to mention the mandatory lion roar.
