DAY ONE: Your Arrival in Nairobi

This day when you arrive at the Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta international airport, a representative from Tours and holidays africa will be waiting for you at the arrival terminal holding a board with your name on it. He will then transfer you to the hotel where he will assist you to check in. He will brief you on the entire safari itinerary and also allow you to ask any questions. This will take a short time so the he can leave you to enjoy the hotel’s amenities or just relax after a long flight. If your flight arrives in the morning hours and you are not tired, we can arrange for short excursions to the Giraffe Centre where you can feed the endangered Rothschild Giraffe, David Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage, the Kazuri Beads Factory or the National Museum –All at an extra charge. Lunch and dinner are not included at the city hotel, this gives you the flexibility to choose to eat at the various food outlets within the hotel e.g. room service, pool bar, restaurant or coffee shop or choose to patronize the many restaurants within the city centre. Overnight in one of Nairobi’s fine hotels.

DAY TWO: Depart Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

This morning enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Your professional driver guide will be waiting for you at the reception. Our safe, clean and comfortable safari vehicle already prepped up. 08h00 you then depart on a 3 and Half hours’ drive along the busy Nairobi – Mombasa highway up to Sultan Hamud town where you will branch onto the newly tarmacked road to Loitokitok town, you will pass by sparsely populated land inhabited by the famous Maasai tribe, their cows, sheep and goats are the only signs of life along this road with little or no traffic at all. You arrive at the Amboseli National Park and proceed to the lodge or tented camp for lunch. After lunch you will proceed to the park for a wildlife viewing experience. 3 ½ Drive on smooth tarmac roads, Distance 250 Kms Dinner and overnight at the camp or lodge.

DAY THREE: Amboseli National Park

This morning you will go on an early wildlife viewing drive in the park Return back to the lodge for breakfast (if staying in a lodge inside the park) Rest of the morning spend at leisure to swim or take a nature walk provided by the lodge/Camp
You then have your sumptuous lunch and charge your cameras At 16h00 when the weather cools down and the wildlife are active proceed for the afternoon wildlife Safaris within this park is a temporary lake, Lake Amboseli, which flood during years of heavy rainfall. Amboseli is famous for its big game –Elephants, Lions, Herds of Buffaloes, Zebra and Wildebeest and its great scenic beautythe landscape is dominated by Mount Kilimanjaro (Highest Mt in Africa) and ‘floating’ elephants within the swamps whose permanent waters zip down from the Mt. Later in the evening return back to your lodge Dinner and overnight at the the camp or lodge.

DAY FOUR: From Amboseli National Park to Nairobi onto Mt Kenya National Park Breakfast at the lodge.

This morning have an early breakfast as you prepare for a long drive. You then depart via Nairobi through the central Kenya highlands to Mt Kenya National Park arriving for late lunch at a camp or a lodge in the Mt.Kenya National Park. After lunch spend afternoon watching wildlife as they stream to the lodge’s waterhole. You can also take part in the lodge’s nature walk up the Montane forest where you will experience the dense forest sounds and wildlife. The guide will point out to you the different birds species, trees and animal tracks, at the end of the tour you will be served with tea/coffee with brandy and cookies to warm up the body before returning back to the lodge/camp. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite or lodge.

DAY FIVE: Depart from Nairobi to Samburu Game Reserve

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge. 09h00: This morning you are departing and continuing further past Nanyuki town and the wheat farms of Timau and shortly after, an amazing transformation occurs when you suddenly descend from the high altitude area to the Arid dry lowlands with intermittent scrublands of Northern Kenya. You proceed through Isiolo Town and arrive in time for lunch at the the campsite or lodge. After lunch relax a few hours then at 16h00 when it’s slightly cool depart to the park to look for animals in the game reserve. 45 Hours drive on good road, distance 1850 Kms Dinner and overnight at the campsite lodge. DAY SIX: Samburu Game Reserve 06h30: this morning you will leave for the morning wildlife safari drives for more interaction with the wildlife. Early mornings are cool, serene and peaceful. This is when the wild animals are still active before the heat of the day sends them to hiding. These are the cats Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, while the herbivores too like Elephant, Buffalo, and Oryx also take advantage of this to graze. You will return back for breakfast and spend the rest of the morning at leisure to enjoy the lodge’s facilities like the swimming pool or extra activities like nature walks. You and also sit and enjoy the views of the wild from your room balcony. Lunch at the lodge then at 16h00 return to the park for more wildlife experience. Samburu Game Reserve is world renowned for rare species of game, the giraffe necked gazelle (gerenuk), gravy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and the Beisa Oryx. It also boast the highest Elephant Population in Kenya. The scenery is unrivalled –numerous hills, valleys and scrublands stretching to the horizon. This reserve offers the best chance of seeing the elusive Leopard along the riverine forest Watch out for the beautiful Africa sunset with the orange sun setting behind the numerous hills.Return back to the lodge, wash off the dust and sit and enjoy the sumptuous buffet dinner in the open restaurant and thereafter a traditional dance group performance. Dinner and overnight at the camp or lodge.

DAY SEVEN: Samburu Game Reserve to Aberdares National Park

Breakfast at the lodge. Once again return back to the highlands and onto Nyeri Town arriving for lunch at the Outspoan Hotel or Aberdares Country Club. After lunch transfer to the Tree Lodge deep in the forest where you will enjoy sights of wildlife as they stream into the lodge’s water hole/saltlick. Sitting as in a theatre watching a play, the waterhole is a beehive of activity as different species of wildlife jostle for a drink and salt. A definite patron is the Elephant families, waterbucks, warthog, baboons and many others.The lodges provide game drives in the 4×4 safari land cruisers for those willing to venture out, you can see Rhino, Lion and many buffalo on a game drive in this high altitude park Dinner and overnight at the campsite lodge

DAY EIGHT: Aberdares National Park to Lake Nakuru National Park

This morning have breakfast then depart for the Lake Nakuru National park via Thompson’s falls. Arrive for lunch at the Lake Nakuru National Park and check in at the lodge After a brief rest, depart on the afternoon wildlife safari drives in the park – famous for the great masses of both greater and lesser Flamingos, the white and black rhinos grazing side by side, herds of buffaloes and a huge population of Impala and warthog. Your chances of seeing the elusive Leopard are much higher here compared only to Samburu Game Reserve. The park is also a Unesco World Heritage site as well as a Ramsar site. Dinner and overnight at the the campsite or lodge.

DAY NINE: Lake Nakuru National Park to Lake Naivasha

This morning you will proceed on a game drive before returning back to the lodge for breakfast. You then depart on a short drive to the nearby Fresh water Lake Naivasha. Although it’s not classified as a Park or Reserve, the lake has plenty of birds species due to its fresh water –Cormorants, Pelicans, Eagles, three species of the Kingfisher (Malachite, Pygmy and Pied) and hundreds of others etc. Proceed on a boat ride to the Crescent Island + a Nature walk among the wildlife –Zebra, Impala, and Warthog etc. Return back for lunch at the lodge. Rest of the afternoon spend at leisure to enjoy the lodge’s facilities Dinner and overnight at the the campsite lodge.

DAY TEN: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara Game Reserve

This day you will have early breakfast. Then at 07h30 you will depart on a 45 hour drive along the floor of the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara game reserve –Kenya’s all time Jewel of the parks. Indeed it’s the highlight of any professionally planned Kenya Safari Tour because of the high density of wildlife and its beautiful African Savannah landscape dominated by open plains. Arrive at the lodge and check in before proceeding for hot lunch. Take a short rest after lunch then at about 16h00 you will proceed to the park for wildlife Safaris viewing and later in the evening as the sun sets down over the Africa savannah landscape return back the campsite. 45 Hours’ drive smooth tarmac road and sections of rough earth road, distance 300 Kms Dinner and overnight at the the campsite lodge.

DAY ELEVEN: Full Day in Maasai Mara Game Reserve

This day you have 2 options, (1) you can choose to go on the usual 3 hours each morning and afternoon game viewing drives or (2) choose to go on the Half Day or Full day wildlife viewing drives with picnic lunch boxes. Option 2 is highly advisable during the Great Wildebeest Migration where you get a much better chance of seeing the famous river crossing. This is Kenya’s prime park and never disappoints in terms of wildlife experience. Sporting a pride of Lion is highly likely. While the Cheetah might be well camouflaged in the tall grass, our well trained Safari driver guides are well tuned to their tricks and will soon spot one for you. Elephants and thousands of other nonmigratory animals abound throughout the year. Over 550 hundred species of birds have been recorded here both local and migrantsThe most popular months are from midJuly to late October during the migration of the wildebeest. This is the annual mass movement of over 1.5 million wildebeest accompanied by Zebra and Impalas from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania in search of pasture. Hundreds of hooves pounding the open plains accompanied by a cacophony of grunts create a spectacle to behold. Spend the nights in a relaxing room in either of the lodges below listening to the orchestra of rasping Cicadas, croaking Tree Frogs and the intermittent call of the nightjars and owls not to mention the mandatory lion roar. No need to mention the monkeys –they are quite good at announcing their presence! Dinner and overnight at the the campsite lodge.

DAY TWELVE: Maasai Mara Game Reserve to Nairobi onto departure

Early morning game viewing drive retuning to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast you will depart on a leisurely drive to Nairobi arriving late afternoon and we transfer you to the Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta international airport where you will connect your departure flight home.
